Neurodivergent Nurturers Support Group

Being a mama of a neurodivergent child has taught me so much. When I started this journey back in 2019, I have never felt so lonely. I found that my friends tried so hard to support me, but sometimes the words they said just weren't what I needed to hear (to absolutely no fault of their own). As I began to connect with other parents going through similar journeys to mine, I realized the reason my friends hadn't "said the things I needed to hear" was because they literally could not possibly know what to say because they'd never experienced anything similar to what I was going through. Over the years, an idea for some type of community support group formed in my brain and I couldn't stop circling back to it.

That idea became Neurodivergent Nurturers: a group holding space for conversation & support specifically for parents and caregivers who are navigating the world of caring for a neurodivergent child. We know it can be confusing and feel very lonely at times. Whether you just started the evaluation process or you're years into it, this group is for you. This group is about judgement free vulnerability. We want you to feel like you can share anything here, because you're with others who are right there with you dealing with similar issues.

Currently, we hold meetings monthly at The Bird & Bear Collective in Holliston, MA (Bird & Bear Website). These meetings are open to anyone, and currently are no cost to join.

I cohost the group with Jennifer Corcoran of JC Educational Advocacy (website here). We both have different experiences supporting neurodivergence that we bring to the table.

We offer a private facebook group for members to continue supporting each other outside of our meetups and I am currently looking into hosting virutal meetups and potentially a weekend meetup!
